The Harmonic Egg-perience
The Harmonic Egg is a resonance chamber that mimics the natural energies of the universe using sound and light frequencies. Located in the John Marshall building on Waterloo Street in Warrenton, the business fits well in the historic building alongside yoga, art studio, wellness, and mental health providers.
Upon entering The Source Harmonic Egg, I was greeted by Kim whose warm and calm energy matches that of the space. Kim’s knowledge of the science behind the egg is effortless for her to explain in common terms for her clients to understand. But even more apparent is her passion for helping others. She explains that her goal is to provide this service to veterans, families, moms, and all others who may need this therapy to reduce anxiety, detox the body, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and help to heal trauma at a cellular level.
She walks you through what to expect so that any fears are comforted and then asks a few questions to guide you through setting an intention for your time in the egg. You see, the egg’s magic isn’t solely because of the egg - it comes from the client. I realized as I entered the room, I had to give myself permission to use this time for myself. I had to put the phone away and realize that everything else can wait. I had to really let myself embrace this experience to get the full effect.
The room is dimly lit with salt lamps and the sounds of a fountain. Every detail in the room is intentional to help you feel at ease.
Kim leads you to the massage chair first to begin getting yourself into relaxation mode.
Ten minutes with comforting heat, a soft blanket, and the chair hugging your shoulders and calves really sets you into the mode you need to enjoy the egg.
Kim enters and lets me know it’s time for the egg. I take off my shoes, grab my blanket, and enter this uniquely shaped self-contained structure with leading lines on the sides and a chair in the middle. Kim sets up and reclines the seat, then closes the door, and the music begins.
The music you hear is customized for each client’s unique situation. As you lay in the egg, the music surrounds you from all sides and then moves around you.
I found it to be easy to become mindful to take it all in. The sensory experience is quite sensational. I relaxed so much I think I fell asleep for a short time. When my session was over, Kim quietly opened the doors and then asked me how I felt. I have to be honest, I haven’t felt that relaxed in a very long time.
Even in the days after, I recognized a calm presence about myself that I really enjoyed. I can’t wait to experience it again.
